This morning I was heading back home from an AMAZING night with close friends. Sober and refreshed I was set for the 2+ hour trek back home with my trusty ipod and my yet-to-finish-reading copy of Dashiell Hammett's "Red Harvest." Now normally I like to enjoy these walk of shame back home without any distractions but I was so energized from the night before(ironically enough since I passed out for a good few in between shots and birthday sing-songs) I just had to have a sensory overload.
My ipod was set to shuffle and honestly I wasn't paying much attention but then this came one and threw me back in time! Has it really been so long since I've listened to this? I LOVE IT! Easily Fatboy Slim dopest scratches. In my state of marginal sobriety I felt as if he was literally scratching vinyl on my brain....twisted! Check out the video directed by the ever gracious Roman Coppola.
I've always loved the Clipse, especially when Pharrell is involved, but they kind of disappeared for a while but alas the "Pioneers of coke rap" are back and I'm loving it. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to glorify the violence or anything but their lyrical supremacy are at an all time high. Even more I'm pleasantly suprised at seeing and hearing Cam'ron after a while of nothing. No sure what happened with him and the dipset fam but alas he's on a hot track finally! Check it out!
Depending on your awareness of indie music scene, hearing Nino Moschella's name will either have you super excited to the point of hyperventilation or leave you staring in oblivion. The Californian crooner has been on the scene for quite some time and really blew up big with his collabs with Shawn Lee' Ping Pong Orchrestra. My guess is his most popular song is probably "Kiss the Sky" which although never commercially pushed was featured on numerous TV and film soundtracks. It's quite beautiful, check it out! And if you enjoyed it, check out his albums The Fix and Boomshadow!
Just check the song out... can't agree more!

French has always been the language of love, and if you don't think so Cheb Khaled is there to remind you! Born in Algeria in 1960s, he began his singing career as a teen and rose to international fame by the early 90s. This is one of my favorite song from him and most likely one of his most popular all time song. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you "Aicha" a song of love, lust and even more, empowerment to women... this is why Khaled is known as "The King of Rai!"
Anyone who knows me knows i have the weirdest tastes in music. Here I present you with an artist that puts me to sleep and wakes me up on my most tired of days...Angelique Kidjo. Her music is extremely diverse, ranging from afrikana to pop to soul, i can find a Kidjo song to express any feeling! Here's a sample, its called Summertime and though you'll probably never know what she's singing about, its one of the most relaxing songs ever to hit my ears...ENJOY!
